So my garden has developed in the last six months. At the moment it as come to a bit of a stand still. I need more pots, soil and I need to plant out the seedlings that I've grown. I need to weed. There is constant work but I love it, it makes me smile to come back to reddening tomatoes. The mocking I get from Susan who lives below me about me 'looking after my babies' makes me feel part of a little community.
Creating the garden has made me know my neighbours. They comment on my tomatoes or window boxes. They give me advice and we chat. It is rather lovely. I used herbs I had grown from seeds in a vegetable stew this evening I'm only steps away from the good life.
On the route to the swimming pool I pass Florence's garden. She is like me in a first floor flat but has been given access and free run to the front garden. She has window boxes and hanging baskets. Her garden isn't an expensive one, her boxes are plastic held together with tape rather than terracotta. Her plants are colourful and simple geraniums rather than expensive plants. Her garden though in someways reflects her mature years. Every time I see her she gives me a pineapple leaf to run and smell and tells me how she grew her avocado tree from seed. Now it is bigger than her. Apparently down the road in some garden is an avocado tree grows fruit.
So i've been inspired and this

Every time I walk into my kitchen I remind myself that I must plant it out but I fear I've left it way too late.
I'm slightly worried about Florence. I haven't seen her for a while and her dead flowers that remain on stalks that I long to prune. I think I'll pluck up the courage to knock on her door and check she is okay some time soon.
Anyway my neck is being kissed and i am going to bed.
